The facility, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will offer training in a variety of martial arts under the tutelage of a team of instructors including former UFC middleweight champion Dave Menne, Muay Thai champion Andy Thrasher, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Dave Phillips and Vietnamese boxing champion Nguyen Ngoc Quy.

There will also be qualified cross fit trainers available at Saigon Sports Club and as well as the range of martial arts courses on offer there is a swimming pool and 5 a side football pitch which members will have access to. For anyone wanting to simulate the experience of a real MMA fight or boxing or Muay Thai match there is a cage and a ring which can both be used for sparring simulations.

Saigon Sports Club is the brain child of Vietnamese local Tri Van Trinh and Frenchman Jonathan Haucourt who is a long term Saigon resident and they had the following to say about their joint project,

“We at first just wanted to create a grade A training gym whose purpose  was to be the development of personnel fitness and the exploration of the Martial  Arts. One thing led to another and our dream was eclipsed by the reality of what  was beginning to take form. We now have a 7500 square meter World Class  training facility powered by World Champion competitors. We nicknamed the martial arts area the factory because we believe it will be just that a factory.  However, instead of spitting out toys or dolls we see future champions marching out  under the banner of Saigon Sports Club a place where anyone can reach their  personal excellence.”

The KBBV (Association of Brittany in Vietnam) is pleased to announce its program for the Brittany national day 2013

Friday 17th May 7:30pm, the IDECAF will host the performance of Lang Du, a surprising band that combines both traditional Vietnamese and Breton songs.

The spectacle’s theme is about four Bretons adventurers Jean-Marie DAYOT, Jean CREMET, Paul Proust DE LA GIRONNIERE and August PAVI who took part to some major historic events during their stay in South-East Asia. The band will be accompanied by: Jakez Lesouef, a famous master pipes player, and Alain Pennec, one of the most reputed accordionist who will be celebrated his 49th album participation this year, both coming from Brittany.

The Saturday 18th May they will be playing on a boat, sailing from Majestic at 7pm to Binh Quoi. Participant will enjoy the buffet while Gwennili, the local Breton band, will perform both contemporary and traditional songs as well as their own productions.
Binh Quoi 2 will hold the actual Breton national day on Sunday 19th May. The celebration start at 11 am and the entrance is free. The day will be filled with games, concert, lucky draw, quiz and other surprises. During all the day, stands with delicatessen, oysters, mussels, crepes, ciders and ice cream will delight the visitors.
